I am working on a “hyper-dryer” of low-value high-volume biomass (especially long and straight like slabs (first edge cuts at sawmills, or bamboo, but could be other biomass also). The highly-dried biomass (heated to 150C or higher) is intended to be used as a (PRE-torrefied) biomass fuel that has greater value and better handling than the simple raw stuff.
Use of the fuel would preferably be in devices that can create biochar, such as the 4C kiln. The heat for hyper-drying is from a char-making 4C kiln that I have designed (no longer called C4 kiln). Controlled Continuous Covered Cavity kiln. Flame Cap with control. Seen in photos in the attached report.

Probably best if you have (or have accessible to you) a supply of “appropriate excess biomass” (such as at a sawmill) and the desire to try to get some value from it.
Scale up could reach at least dumpster-size units, and possibly industrial-site proportions, and possible continual processing instead of current batch method.
Note: The “hyper-dryer” and the 4C kiln can be considered as two separate components that together give a “reason to exist” to each other.
