FW: [CDR] Open call for a common statement: the need to clearly differentiate between emission reductions and removals

Biochar group,

The biochar businesses and associations worldwide need to know of this initiative to distinguish CDR for ER.   And should consider providing supportive responses.

Biochar Carbon Removal (BCR) is the well-stated (by the European groups) designation for CDR accomplished via biochar production and sequestration / storage.  BCR is an important part of CDR.

I ask that our organizations (IBI, USBI, EBC, Australia Biochar …, Biochar Crusaders (India), etc.) inform us via our discussion groups (the biochar community members) of how each will respond to this call for support about CDR being  different
than ER.

Biochar needs to be well  represented in the resultant “statements” and websites, etc..

I hope that this message / topic stimulates good discussion, clarification of anyone’s questions, and actions.
